Hi there! My name is Nicolas Bloom, and I’m a game designer with an eye for the visual arts and character design, as I’ve had experience with art and design my entire life. It was this passion for art that led me to pursue my preferred field of Game Design: character design. I’ve been designing characters for fun since I was very little to entertain my younger siblings, and now I wish to do the same thing for a much larger audience. Of course, I’m not just limited to character design; I’ve worked in environmental design, narrative design, and I’ve even lead an entire game design team to build a successful board game prototype. In addition, through my courses as an undergraduate student at High Point University and my own side projects, I’ve become familiar with working with Autodesk 3DS Max, Unreal Engine, Stencyl, C++, and many more programs and coding languages. Through the university’s Communication and Business Leadership Master’s program, I have learned to speak and write more effectively for an audience. In my free time, I’ve familiarized myself with programs and languages like the coding language C#, the art and image editing program Paint.NET, the drawing and painting program Clip Studio Paint, and the grid-based map-making program Tiled.
